The "MODERN CLASSIC" series is made entirely by hand by craftsmen, so there may be tiny black spots from iron filings, air bubbles, or traces of glaze flow. Just as the brocante pieces from the 1900s that we aimed for are, we consider these traces of handwork to be precious, so please purchase with this understanding. Any items with cracks, chips, or distortions that pose a problem for safe use have been rejected during inspection.

Our director, Yuko Watanabe, often uses brocante café au lait bowls at her own table. Her favorites are plain white, thin, and elegantly shaped with a tapered waist. However, due to their recent popularity, good quality ones are becoming scarce even in their country of origin.

So, we created our original "café au lait bowl." This S size has a full capacity of 230ml, giving it a slightly smaller impression compared to the M size in the same series. It's about the same size as a regular coffee cup, making it perfect for everyday use. It can also be used for yogurt, soup, fruit, desserts, or even matcha. It's light, easy to hold, and comfortable to grip, making it excellent for children's dishes too!

 

It's easy to store by stacking, and the stacked appearance is beautiful and picturesque, so many people are replacing all their mugs at home with café au lait bowls.

High-quality Japanese porcelain. This is a confident piece that we created through trial and error with reliable craftsmen. Based on French brocante from the early to mid-1900s, we modernized it by focusing on a strong tapered waist, delicate foot, and pushing the thinness to the absolute limit before it becomes fragile. While it has a soft, smooth, and round feel, the details exude a sense of tension. The slightly grayish white glaze gives it a gentle impression, and we considered its versatility for home use. The "FOOD FOR THOUGHT" logo in gray is on the bottom.

A plain white, thin, elegant café au lait bowl that seems hard to find. Brocante pieces with little signs of use are expensive and hard to come by in sets. We want you to be able to collect these as a staple, so we will continue to produce them.

It's very convenient to have enough for your family, and it's also suitable for professional use in cafes and other eateries. Or, since it's plain and versatile, it's perfect for gifts.

*Since all processes are done by hand by craftsmen, there may be very slight individual differences unique to ceramics. That being said, there may be slight differences in size of 1-2mm, or minor spots of about 1-2mm, traces of glaze flow or unevenness, and slight color differences due to glazing and firing, but these do not pose any problem for practical use.
