From Saturday, May 17th to Thursday, May 22nd, FOOD FOR THOUGHT Uehara will host the first solo exhibition by glass artist Yuko Miura.
On the opening day, Saturday, May 17th, Ms. Miura will be present at the gallery! This is a rare opportunity to get tips for choosing your artwork, so please don't miss it.

Yuko Miura is a glass artist who creates exquisite works with skilled techniques. She constantly refines her craftsmanship and approaches her daily work with sincerity.
Her works exude warmth and nostalgia. Ms. Miura sometimes draws inspiration from ancient Oriental glass and items from the Taisho and Meiji periods, researching old books and incorporating those ideas into designs that are easy to use in modern life. While utilizing the fluid curves of glass, her pieces have a stylish presence. Her works, suitable for any cuisine, also pair perfectly with ceramic and wooden vessels, metal cutlery, and timeless brocante items.
Furthermore, the exceptional tactile quality of her pieces captivates users. She reportedly creates with a balance that feels as comfortable to hold as a ceramic plate. The ingenious ideas she discovered through her own daily use are meticulously incorporated into every part of her work. Her exhibitions consistently sell out. The reason for such overwhelming support lies in her craftsmanship, which is directly connected to daily life.
This time, we will introduce two colors: “Smoke,” which has a deep and soft hue, and “Clear,” which gives a sophisticated impression. Both are easy to use at the dining table and make food look beautiful. Glass items will be especially useful as the weather gets warmer.
