"Kouta Arinaga Exhibition" will be held from 8/27 (Sat.) to 8/31 (Wed.) at the Uehara store

From 8/27 (Sat.) to 8/31 (Wed.), FOOD FOR THOUGHT Uehara will hold a solo exhibition by Kota Arinaga, a glass artist based in Notojima, Ishikawa Prefecture.

For this solo exhibition, FFT owner Igarashi and director Watanabe visited Mr. Arinaga's new workshop in Notojima. Surrounded by the beautiful sea and greenery, the environment is like the original scenery of Japan.

Mr. Arinaga works with high precision, but his mentality is flat and natural. I strongly felt that his gentle and generosity and his beautiful works are the result of a healthy working environment.

Arinaga's work teaches the viewer that glass is liquid. The forms he creates are organic, gentle, and completely effortless, and I feel the necessity that everything was born from the flow of circular motion. Rather than forcibly adjusting the shape, you can receive such a feeling from every work that the glass has settled into its shape by itself, as if the glass is happy. Mr. Arinaga is an expert at breathing life into glass.

Arinaga's work has a technical backbone and a clear concept in each piece, so it is perfect for decorating as a statement piece in the interior.

He has been actively exhibiting overseas, and is a highly regarded artist whose reputation as an artist is steadily increasing.

In this exhibition, in addition to standard items such as plates and bowls, items unique to solo exhibitions such as vases and one-of-a-kind items will also be available. Arinaga's signature "gaze" series will also be made. I would like customers in Uehara to see the astonishing precision.
