This pottery is absorbent, so its appearance will change with exposure to moisture and oils from food. As it is prone to staining, we recommend avoiding dark-colored dishes until the oil has fully permeated the entire surface. The more you use it, the more character it will develop, and we hope you enjoy this transformation. If you are concerned, try soaking it in water for about 10 minutes before use. This will help prevent staining and odors to some extent, allowing it to gradually mature.
