This year marks the 5th annual solo exhibition by Masayuki Miyagi at FOOD FOR THOUGHT, held every year around this season.

Masayuki Miyagi's works are particularly popular among repeat customers. One of their charms is how pleasant they are to hold, making you want to use them every day. The pieces, with their dynamic kiln variations on earthenware that exudes the power of the earth, give an initial impression of solidity, but when you pick them up, they are surprisingly light and settle quietly into your hand.

Before you know it, they're in your hands every day, gracing your dining table. The works created by Miyagi-san graciously accommodate various cuisines regardless of nationality, and are all items that seamlessly blend into daily life.

And above all, a defining characteristic of Masayuki Miyagi's work is its uniformity. In addition to his breathtakingly beautiful pottery wheel techniques, honed through sincere training, his reliable experience in controlling kiln variations is undoubtedly the fruit of many years of dedication. It's a joy to be able to collect them with confidence.

The beautiful "celadon glaze" blue is as if the Okinawa sea itself has arrived, the deep green "ash glaze" is captivating, the "cracked cosmetic" glaze features a beautiful contrast between the fired surface and the glaze, and the "black glaze" emits a dull, iron-like glow. This time, Miyagi-san has used these four types of glazes to create a variety of items. In addition to the "rim plates" and "rim bowls" making their debut in our shop, a full lineup of standard items will also be available!

This is an opportunity to acquire Miyagi-san's works as we head into early summer! Our entire staff looks forward to your visit.
