The subtle smoke tint gives the piece an overall soft appearance. The glass has a plump, balloon-like shape. The band wrapped around the neck fits perfectly under the fingers when holding the cup, providing a verysecure grip.

Yuko Miura Profile

Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1982.
Began working with blown glass at Glass Studio Aaty while studying at Kyoto University of the Arts.
After graduation, studied the fundamentals of glass at the Toyama Glass Art Institute’s Art Department.
Worked for five years as a staff member at the Glass Studio of the New Art Creation Center in Iwata City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
Launched the blown glass studio Bamboo Glass in 2014.
Currently active primarily through craft fairs and exhibitions.
