Tetsuhiro Iwata Brief Biography
Born in Tottori Prefecture in 1981. Studied architecture at Kyoto Seika University, then apprenticed under ceramic artist Kan Ito. Became independent in 2019. As he himself says he is drawn to "products" like industrial goods, his works may appear unadorned from a distance, but when held, one is moved by their exquisite balance and the traces of handwork. The fusion of structural and concise proportions with organic handwork evokes the modernism of brutalist architecture. He is an artist that Food For Thought is keeping an eye on.
