02 Rim Plate M (Mocha)

FFT's featured artist, potter Shintaro Enami. He is a prominent artist who spent five years gaining various experiences as the top apprentice of Tetsuya and Momoko Otani, and then became independent from "Otani Seito."

Enami's works feature distinctive waves (streamlines). All of them are carved by hand, and their elegant and intricate expressions are stunning. And his throwing technique is truly exceptional.

Enami says that rimmed plates are the most frequently used and indispensable items in his own home. The M size is designed to perfectly fit one slice of toast. It is also recommended as an individual plate for guests.

As these are artisan pieces, there will be individual differences in glaze, color, and size.

This pottery is absorbent, so its texture will change with the moisture and oil from food. Since it is prone to staining, we recommend avoiding dark-colored dishes until the oil has fully settled into the entire surface. The more you use it, the more character it develops, and we hope you enjoy that transformation. If you are concerned, try soaking it in water for about 10 minutes before use. This will help prevent staining and odors to some extent, allowing it to gradually mature.
