01 Rim Plate S (Teal)

FFT's featured artist, potter Shintaro Enami. He is a prominent artist who, after five years of diverse experience as Tetsuya and Momoko Otani's top apprentice, has become independent from "Otani Seitojo."

Enami's works are characterized by distinctive waves (streamlines). All are hand-carved, and their elegant and intricate expressions are stunning. And his pottery wheel technique is truly exceptional.

Enami says that rim plates are the most frequently used and indispensable items in his own home. The S size is versatile and can be used for everything from individual plates to dessert plates.

New color "Teal" unveiled for the first time at this exhibition

The pale blue-green glaze shows kiln variations. The granular texture of the surface contrasts with the smooth waves (shinogi patterns) on the rim and foot. This color offers a richer range of expressions depending on how the light hits it, more so than Enami's previous works.

As these are artisanal works, there may be individual differences in glaze, color, and size.

【Handling Instructions】
Since this pottery is absorbent, its texture will change with the moisture and oil from food. It is prone to staining, so it is recommended to avoid dark-colored dishes until the entire surface has absorbed some oil. As it is used, it will develop more character, so please enjoy this transformation. If you are concerned, try soaking it in water for about 10 minutes before use. This will help prevent staining and odors to some extent, and it will gradually mature.
