"Hanaka" is one of Sakita-san's representative and popular series. As the name suggests, it is a romantic piece where a flower-like shadow falls on the table under strong light. Each piece has a gentle color gradation at the bottom, and the way the colors intertwine with the shadow is also beautiful.

From making the edges of glassware very thin for a pleasant feel to rolling the rims of plates, bowls, and vases, each piece is thoughtfully designed for both usability and beauty.

A goblet perfectly sized for beer. Elegant with a stem, yet stable. Also suitable for iced tea and iced coffee.

Aki Sakita Biography

Born in Akita City, Akita Prefecture in 1982
Completed research at Akita Public Art & Crafts College in 2012
Moved to Toyama in 2012
Returned to Akita City in 2017 after Toyama Glass Studio and established own studio
