Hanaka Kato apprenticed under ceramic artist Naotsugu Yoshida and became an independent artist in 2026.
Her forms are clean and refined. There is a sense of simplicity, as if created through a philosophy of subtraction, that makes her work exceptionally unique.

Kato’s pieces are lightweight, making them perfect for women and those new to ceramic wares.

The rims are sharp and feel smooth against the lips, ensuring excellent practicality. For sake lovers, choosing a shape you don't already own can be part of the joy. These are also recommended as tea ware for Chinese tea.

As these are handmade, there are individual variations in glaze, color, and size.
