08 Round Rim Plate L (Teal)

Shintaro Enami, an acclaimed ceramic artist and writer at FFT.

He is a remarkable artist who, after five years of diverse experience as the top apprentice to Tetsuya and Momoko Otani, became independent from "Otani Tougei".Enami's works feature characteristic wave patterns (shinogi). Each piece is hand-carved, and their elegant and intricate expressions are truly breathtaking. His pottery wheel techniques are, simply put, superb.

His works are lightweight, comfortable to hold, and have excellent weight balance.

The deep curvature of the rim of the round-rimmed plate ensures that even items that might be scooped with a spoon, for example, will not escape the plate and can be easily taken.

As these are artisanal pieces, there may be individual differences in glaze, color, and size.

【Care Instructions】
Because this pottery is absorbent, its appearance will change with the moisture and oils from food. Since it is prone to staining, we recommend avoiding dark-colored dishes until the entire surface has absorbed some oil. The more you use it, the more character it develops, so we hope you enjoy this transformation. If you are concerned, try soaking it in water for about 10 minutes before use. This will help prevent staining and odors to some extent, and allow the pottery to gradually "grow" into its unique character.
