This is the first "Kan Ito Exhibition" we've hosted in three years.
Kan-san creates pieces that can always uplift your spirits a little when they are part of your daily life.
Among the items created specifically for this exhibition, the teapot, made after a long interval, is surely one of those mood-lifting pieces. The gentle, warm white of the white clay ash glaze gives it a serene impression, as if it has aged over many years. Kan-san's works possess an unadorned beauty and flexibility that makes you confident you'll always love them, even as your personal tastes change throughout life.
Each shape and the choice of glaze for that shape has its roots and reasons, making the lineup feel as if you are peeking into a fraction of the vast repertoire Kan-san holds within himself.
