"Ryutaro Yamada BON-NOU" will be held at Uehara store from 3/11 (Sat) to 14 (Tue)!

From Saturday, March 11th to Tuesday, March 14th, FOOD FOR THOUGHT Uehara will host a solo exhibition by ceramist Ryutaro Yamada, titled "Ryutaro Yamada BON-NOU"!

Entry on the first day until 12:00 PM will be by reserved ticket only.
Tickets will be available starting tomorrow, Saturday, March 4th at 10:00 PM, on our dedicated ticket reservation website (foodforthoughtshop.net).

The title "BON-NOU" directly refers to "earthly desires," expressing the myriad swirling thoughts that Ryutaro Yamada pours into his pottery, manifesting them in his works.

The main feature of this exhibition will be a collection of highly energetic pieces fired in an anagama kiln. Once placed in the kiln, the works are beyond the artist's control, and the unexpected expressions that emerge by chance are one of their unique charms.

There will also be works that represent Yamada's origins, as well as enthusiastically created carbonization-fired pieces and unglazed yakishime pottery. Though not flashy, these works offer a profound richness, inviting a contemplative enjoyment as if chewing and conversing with oneself.

Of course, there will be pots and vases that captivated us at previous solo exhibitions and trunk shows, as well as tableware that can be the centerpiece of a dining table or serve as art pieces. Please look forward to them.
