The "Let's buy flowers today" exhibition was planned to encourage people to "buy flowers" during this full-bloom spring season. It will be an exhibition specializing in flower vases, which are highly sought after in Uehara.

And what's more, it's an innovative project where flower stylist Kazumi Hirai will also have a pop-up flower shop, allowing you to actually buy both a vase and flowers together!

Our basic concept at FOOD FOR THOUGHT is to "enrich daily life through the dining table."

Therefore, we primarily focus on tableware, but actually, what's most popular among our Uehara customers are "flower vases."

The area around our shop has many discerning customers, and it's also a competitive area for stylish flower shops. It's an area where not only women but also men often buy flowers. I think the large number of foreign residents might also contribute to this.

As for me, the shop owner, when I spot a flower shop on my way home, I think, "Ah, maybe I'll buy some flowers today." Personally, I think it would be great if I could also choose a lovely vase at the same time.

So, I've wanted to hold an exhibition specializing in flower vases for a long time. The title, straight from my heart, is "Let's buy flowers today."

This time, specially, flower stylist Kazumi Hirai will open a small pop-up flower shop! Kazumi might even be at the shop herself, making arrangements. It's sure to be a lively and fun exhibition.

I hope that when you pass by our shop, you'll think, "Oh, since I'm here, maybe I'll buy some flowers and a vase today," and that we can help create a slightly special day for our customers.

This is not just an exhibition of flower vases, nor just a flower shop. We are holding this with the feeling of sharing the wonderful time you get from taking home a new vase and flowers to match.

Uehara is an area where there is a very strong demand not only for small vases but also for "as large as possible" ones. Therefore, we selected artists who can provide a wide variety of vases. I believe it's a lineup that's typical of FFT.

Now, making their debut in this exhibition is Akiko Takahashi, who creates her work in Chiba. She is an artist who creates a single piece by first hand-building a vase, then tearing it, adding texture, applying glaze randomly, and intricately designing it with the perfect balance even in unseen places.

It's enjoyable to find the cryptic designs hidden within the layers of white, and thinking that each handprint is a layer of time the artist spent, the preciousness of the work immensely increases. Of course, all pieces are one-of-a-kind.

I fell in love with her work at first sight and offered her the opportunity, and she agreed to create pieces for this exhibition. I believe Takahashi's works will become increasingly "unaffordable." If you like something, please get it early.

To enrich your own life a little, for someone special, or for customers at your restaurant. I hope everyone will buy their favorite flowers and take them home as they wish.
