27b Chinese-style Teapot

Shintaro Enami, a ceramist who is a featured artist at FFT. He is an emerging artist who has just become independent from "Otani Seitojo" after 5 years of diverse experience as the top apprentice to Tetsuya and Momoko Otani.

Enami's works feature distinctive flowing carved lines. All are hand-carved, and their elegant and delicate appearance is breathtaking. And the skill with the potter's wheel is truly exceptional.

His diligent approach to creation is clearly reflected in his works.
They are comfortable to hold and have excellent weight balance. The soft expressions created by the hand-carved curves also bring a light atmosphere to the table.

And please also note the excellent design of the vent holes. The holes are connected at a 90-degree angle within the handle and exit at the back of the handle. This way, no holes are exposed on the lid. This extra step provides a seamless design that does not interfere with the aesthetics. It is beautiful craftsmanship inherited from his master. Please also pay attention to the intricate tea strainer inside.

Since this pottery is absorbent, its texture will change with the moisture and oil from food. Because it is prone to staining, it is recommended to avoid dark-colored dishes until the entire piece has absorbed oil. The more you use it, the more character it develops, so we hope you enjoy this change. If you are concerned, try soaking it in water for about 10 minutes before use. This will help prevent staining and odors to some extent, and it will slowly develop its character.
