34a Sugar pot (white)

Shintaro Enami, a ceramist who is a featured artist at FFT. He is a noteworthy artist who, as the top apprentice of Tetsuya and Momoko Otani, gained various experiences over five years and just recently became independent from "Otani Seito-sho" this April. Our wish came true, and he is participating in this exhibition for the first time!

Enami's works feature distinctive stream-lined fluting. All are created by hand carving, and their elegant and delicate expressions are awe-inspiring. And his throwing technique is simply superb.

His works are light, feel good in the hand, and have excellent weight balance. While possessing refined forms, the works, adorned with the soft expressions of curves, seem to embody the aroma of coffee and will surely make your coffee break more enriching.

As these are artisanal works, there may be individual differences in glaze, color, and size.

[Care Instructions]
Because this pottery is absorbent, its texture will change with the moisture and oil from food. Since it is prone to staining, it is recommended to avoid dark-colored dishes until the entire surface is accustomed to oil. The more you use it, the more character it will develop, so we hope you enjoy these changes. If you are concerned, try soaking it in water for about 10 minutes before use. This will prevent staining and odors to some extent, and it will gradually develop its character.

2017 Worked at the studio of his grandfather, Kenzo Ogawa
2018 Completed the small throwing course at Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park
2019 Completed the body and glaze course at Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park
2020-2025 Studied under Tetsuya and Momoko Otani
