Tetsuhiro Iwata Brief Biography
Born in Tottori Prefecture in 1981. Studied architecture at Kyoto Seika University, then apprenticed under potter Kan Ito. Became independent in 2019. As he himself says, he is drawn to "products" like industrial goods; his works, while appearing aloof from a distance, inspire awe with their exquisite balance and traces of handiwork when held. The fusion of constructive and concise proportions with organic handiwork creates a modernity reminiscent of Brutalist architecture. He is an artist highlighted by Food For Thought.
