"Aya Yuki Exhibition" will be held at the Uehara store from October 19 (Sat) - 22 (Tue)!

At FOOD FOR THOUGHT Uehara, from October 19th (Sat) to 22nd (Tue), we will be holding a solo exhibition by ceramic artist Aya Yuki, who creates pottery in Nomi City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Aya Yuki creates works of rich colors. The world of colors she expresses evokes a gentle nostalgia, like a glimpse of the scenery we touch and see every day amidst the changing seasons. Once you use Aya Yuki's works, you'll be completely captivated. In addition to the beauty of her colors, her beautifully rounded wheel work touches the heart when held. From the finely detailed pieces, her gentle and meticulous personality shines through. Her works have a soft presence, leaving room for imagination based on individual perception. We encourage you to carefully discover the unique charm of Aya Yuki's works in person at the store. This exhibition will feature a rich lineup of items, including pitchers, footed plates, and vases, which are unique to a solo exhibition, as well as plates, bowls, and cups that are easy to use in daily meals. There will also be various other items not usually seen. Please look forward to it. All works are based on pure white porcelain. They are easy to handle and have a luxurious feel, making them suitable for use in both Japanese and Western restaurants. These are vessels that can become a professional's "weapon." There are three colors to introduce. "White," whose crystals within the glaze beautifully sparkle under sunlight; "Blue Haze," which has an impressive hazy blue appearance; and "Purple," which can be considered Aya Yuki's signature color. These colors have a captivating charm that makes you pick them up and admire them repeatedly, revealing the flow of the glaze and tiny crystallized parts if you look closely. When light hits them, they shimmer even more elegantly. Amidst the indigo sumi-iro of the Uehara store, please enjoy a serene dialogue with the works.
