MODERN CLASSIC Cafe au Lait Bowl S Ash

Sale price₩45,000 KRW

Because all processes in the "MODERN CLASSIC" series are done by hand by artisans, slight black spots from iron powder, air bubble spots, and glaze flow marks may remain. Just as the 1900s brocante pieces we aimed for are, we consider the marks of handiwork to be precious, so please purchase with understanding. Any pieces with cracks, chips, or distortions that pose a problem for safe use are all rejected during inspection.

New colors are now available for the popular, long-selling MODERN CLASSIC series cafe au lait bowls from FFT!

This is our most popular color in-store, "Ash." It goes without saying, but it's a color that's easy for many people to use. It's not a cold, neutral gray; it leans slightly towards a warm tone, blending exceptionally well with food.

In the "psychology of color" using a color wheel, "Ash" represents "universality," "balance," and "intelligence."

If you own many white dishes, incorporating "Ash" can create a chic and sophisticated table setting. Mixing gray among black dishes also looks stylish. It's perfect for cafe au lait and coffee, and because the color isn't too dark, tea also looks delicious with its liquid color standing out.

"Ash" allows you to harmonize with your existing dishes while creating a chic look.

Serving food in "Ash" dishes has the effect of making white look whiter and enhancing the saturation of colorful items. It works well with both Japanese and Western cuisine. When stacked, they look beautiful, and color transfer is not noticeable, making them ideal for use in restaurants.

This is a color we highly recommend to customers who have been loyal to our "MODERN CLASSIC" series. Combining it will expand your monochrome layers and significantly broaden your table styling options. It also pairs well with desserts.

For those who seek a stylish table and want to stick to monochrome, "Ash" is the best choice.

⚠️The colors are intentionally fired with uneven glazes. To preserve the marks of human handiwork, the glaze is not applied uniformly. Please be aware of this if you are looking for perfectly uniform items.

I believe the MODERN CLASSIC cafe au lait bowls have been picked up by so many people because of their sleek, thin design and perfectly beautiful form.

It all started with the idea, "Wouldn't more people become fans if there were colors?" And we were convinced that if this shape were given color, it wouldn't become rustic but rather refined.

Since FFT has a strong image of white and monochrome, I think colorful tableware will appear very fresh. Precisely because we have focused on white, the color tones embody FFT's unique philosophy and essence.

There are four colors as listed below.
Each color name is also wonderful. We gave both Japanese and Western names. Please enjoy the names according to the image of your dishes and table.

Himawari (Sunflower)
A vibrant yellow that, if used in the morning, seems like it would lead to a bright and cheerful day.

Hai (Ash)
A subdued gray that enhances the color of any food, and also complements vivid colors like fruit.

Hisoku (Secret)
This color has been traditionally used in Japanese porcelain, but it also matches well with antique European dishes.

Benifuji (Wisteria)
A very gentle color, a blend of pale pink and wisteria, that stirs a maiden's heart.

Just like the white, all colors are made using high-quality Japanese porcelain clay, and each step—shaping, trimming, glazing, and firing—is handcrafted by Japanese artisans.

All colors are available in both S and M sizes.
Enjoy mixing and matching colors, or enjoy your favorite color in different sizes—it's lovely either way.
