02 Rim Plate M (Teal)

Shintaro Enami, a ceramist attracting attention at FFT, is a notable artist who gained five years of diverse experience as the top apprentice of Tetsuya and Momoko Otani before establishing his own studio, "Otani Seitojo."

Enami's works feature distinctive waves (streamlines), all hand-carved, and their elegant and intricate expressions are simply stunning. And his pottery wheel technique is truly exceptional.

New color "Teal" unveiled for the first time at this exhibition

The pale blue-green glaze retains kiln variations. The granular texture of the surface contrasts with the smooth waves (shinogi pattern) on the rim and foot. Compared to Enami's previous works, this color offers a richer expression that can be enjoyed depending on how the light hits it.

Rimmed plates are the most frequently used and indispensable items in Enami's own home. The M size is designed to perfectly fit one slice of toast. It is also recommended as an individual plate for guests.

Due to the nature of artisan works, there may be individual differences in glaze, color, and size.

[Care Instructions]
This ceramic is absorbent, so its texture will change with the moisture and oil from food. Since it is prone to staining, it is recommended to avoid dark-colored dishes until the entire surface has absorbed oil. As it is used, its character will deepen, and we hope you enjoy this transformation. If you are concerned, try soaking it in water for about 10 minutes before use. This will help prevent staining and odors to some extent, allowing it to gradually develop character.
