27a Chinese Teapot

FFT's featured artist, potter Shintaro Enami, is a 주목받는 artist who recently became independent from "Otani Seito Office" after five years of diverse experience as the top apprentice of Tetsuya and Momoko Otani.

Enami's works feature distinctive streamlined鎬 (shinogi) patterns. Each one is hand-carved, and their elegant and intricate expressions are simply breathtaking. His skill with the potter's wheel is, as expected, superb.

His meticulous approach to creation is clearly evident in his work.
They fit well in the hand and have excellent weight balance. The soft expressions created by the hand-carved curves also lend a light atmosphere to the table.

And please pay attention to the wonderful design of the air holes. The holes are connected at a 90-degree angle within the handle and exit from the back of the handle. This prevents the holes from appearing on the lid, creating a seamless design that doesn't interfere with the aesthetic. This beautiful craftsmanship is inherited from his masters. Please also take note of the intricate tea strainer inside.

Because this pottery is absorbent, its texture will change with moisture and oils from food. As it is prone to staining, it is recommended to avoid dark-colored dishes until the entire piece has absorbed oil. The more you use it, the more character it develops, so we hope you enjoy this change. If you are concerned, try soaking it in water for about 10 minutes before use. This will help prevent staining and odors to some extent, and allow the pottery to slowly mature.
