MODERN CLASSIC OVAL PLATE S
Since the "MODERN CLASSIC" series is handmade by artisans through all processes, there may be slight black spots of iron powder, air bubble spots, or traces of glaze flow. Just as the 1900s brocantes we aimed for are, we consider the marks of handwork to be precious, so please purchase with understanding. Any pieces with cracks, chips, or distortions that pose a safety problem are all rejected during inspection.

This is the "FOOD FOR THOUGHT" series, named after our shop, an "Oval Plate." This is size S.
In the FOOD FOR THOUGHT series, we develop tableware from a unique perspective that has not existed before.
Our director, Yuko Watanabe, prefers to use antique French oval plates. Her particular favorites are those from the late 1800s to early 1900s that are simple white, not too large or too narrow, thin, and elegant.
Such "just-right oval plates" have become highly popular, and it's difficult to find enough of them even in their country of origin.
Therefore, at our shop, to allow customers to enjoy them at the table along with our popular original cafe au lait bowls, we matched the glaze, thinness, and feel. While based on brocante oval plates, we have refined them to suit Japanese dining tables.
This S size is sure to be a great supporter of table coordination. It's perfect for small snacks like nuts and olives, or baked goods like cupcakes and cookies. It's also a versatile piece that's useful for pickles or as a soy sauce dish. You can never have too many.
Heavy oval plates are usually tucked away in the back of the cupboard, but we've made them as thin and elegant as possible, using 3D modeling to create the perfect balance, so they can be a regular on your dining table.
The gentle curve of the rim not only firmly holds dishes with liquid but also makes it easy to grasp when bussing and creates a delicate, beautiful reflection of light on the edge when stacked. Since they are truly beautiful when stacked, they are ideal for "display storage" in open kitchens or for use in restaurants and cafes.
How about them for desserts and fruits, as well as for cooking? High-quality Japanese porcelain. This is a confident piece created through trial and error with reliable artisans.
The proportion is based on French brocante from the late 1800s to early 1900s, modernized with a commitment to thinness, pushing the limits just before it becomes fragile. It has a soft, smooth, and round feel, yet the details have a sense of tension.
The slightly grayish white glaze gives a gentle impression, and we also considered its versatility for home use. The gray "FOOD FOR THOUGHT" logo is on the bottom.
An elegant, thin, plain white oval plate that seems hard to find. Brocantes with little sign of use are expensive and hard to come by in large numbers.
We want you to collect these as a staple, so we will continue to produce them. It's very convenient to have enough for your family, and
It's also for professional use in restaurants, cafes, and other food service establishments.
Or, since it's plain and suitable for any purpose, it's also perfect as a gift for weddings or new beginnings!
