"Children's Tableware Exhibition" to be held at the Uehara store from Saturday, July 27 to Tuesday, July 30!
The 6th "Children's Tableware Exhibition" will be held at FOOD FOR THOUGHT Uehara from Saturday, July 27 to Tuesday, July 30, 2024!
On the first day, admission until 3:00 PM will be by reserved ticket. Tickets will go on sale at 10:00 PM on Saturday, July 20, on our dedicated ticket reservation website https://foodforthoughtshop.net. A 300 yen (tax included) admission fee will be charged.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT's annual special exhibition, the "Children's Tableware Exhibition," is now in its sixth year.
This project began with the wish to "let children experience authentic tableware from a young age."
Mealtime with family is a wonderful time to share the joy of eating with everyone. It is also a place for important communication and education, an irreplaceable time for children's growth.
This year, 11 popular artisans have created "tableware for children" based on their own ideas. This project has matured with each passing year. This time, too, many charming works will be on display!
Some of the artists have actually made tableware for their own children. In addition to items for babies, there will also be adult-sized tableware for teenagers to find their favorites.
Please pick up and admire the works, from those meticulously crafted for ease of use from the perspective of parents and children, to unique and adorable pieces!
This year's poster was again designed by Akasaka Sumire, our staff member and dyeing artist.
The theme this time is "Dinosaurs."
"In hot summers like this year, I tend to get carried away and think about nature, but this year it's especially hot! So I delved back into ancient times and chose dinosaurs as the motif. I once read an article that said dinosaurs can only be imagined from fossils and bones, and the colors can be freely imagined by the artist. I was so moved by how wonderful that was. This time, too, I drew my own dinosaurs, imagining what they would be like if they existed. I hope children full of romance and curiosity will enjoy them," says Akasaka.
I believe this is because everyone involved in this exhibition is thinking of their beloved children.
I am also very much looking forward to holding such an exhibition in this summer season.
Materials that can grow with you for a long time if cared for properly also offer the exciting prospect of aging beautifully.
Please enjoy the deepening character of these authentic items with your family, experiencing their texture, weight, thickness, scent, and sound from a young age.
I would be very happy if the works chosen at this exhibition can help instill the joy and importance of eating during daily meals and snack times, and foster rich hearts.
