This year's final exhibition at FOOD FOR THOUGHT features Atsushi Funakushi, a ceramist who creates pottery in Kasama.

A solo exhibition will be held at our Uehara store from December 24th (Saturday) - December 26th (Monday) *Changed.

Funakushi's vessels are simple and natural.
Funakushi believes that tableware is merely a supporting role for food, like a "frame."
His seemingly simple vessels are packed with ingenious designs for this very purpose.

The image shows the most popular item, the "plate."
It features a silver glaze that beautifully adorns the holiday season.

The flat surface and appropriate thickness and weight make it easy to use with knives and forks.

The rim has a slight elevation of a few millimeters, so you can safely serve dishes with sauces or meat juices.

When stacked, they look neat and beautiful enough to be displayed as a decorative piece.

Through a specification change since last year, the overlapping part of the bottom surface when stacked has been slightly shaved, further improving the fit and finish.

Funakushi subtly incorporates detailed designs that are not immediately apparent. This craftsmanship is why he is supported by professional chefs.

This solo exhibition will feature standard white and black, as well as unique series such as silver glaze and crackle glaze, which are exclusive to this exhibition.

Due to popular demand at last year's exhibition, all works sold out halfway through. We recommend those interested to enter during the reserved time slots.
