This ceramic is absorbent, so its texture will change with moisture and oil from food. It is prone to staining, so it is recommended to avoid dark-colored dishes until the entire surface is well-oiled. The more you use it, the more character it develops, so please enjoy this change. If you are concerned, try soaking it in water for about 10 minutes before use. This will help prevent staining and odors to some extent, allowing it to gradually mature.
