While incorporating traditional techniques and glazes, Michikazu's works are strikingly modern with their sharp shapes.

Potters use various wood ash glazes. When Michikazu was still working in Nagano, he apparently regularly fired works using readily available apple wood ash glaze and chestnut wood ash glaze. Since moving to Kagawa, he has been collecting ash from the many mimosa trees planted around his kiln to create glazes.

This lidded container features a mimosa glaze. The delicate鎬 (shinogi - ridged carving) is stylish, and the lids all fit very well with no individual differences.A multi-faceted lidded container is ideal for enjoying the glaze's texture. It can be used for sweets such as candies or konpeito.

2016 Moved to Kagawa Prefecture and built an anagama kiln and a downdraft kiln
