117 Mimosa Ash Glaze Small Bowl

The Mimosa glaze series is one of Michikazu Sakai's works that receives a lot of inquiries. When Michikazu was still making pottery in Nagano, he apparently regularly fired pieces using applewood ash glaze and chestnut wood ash glaze, which were readily available to him. After moving to Kagawa, he started collecting ash from the many mimosa trees planted around his kiln and using it to make glaze.

The Mimosa glaze, with its crackles that develop over time, is a joy to watch mature. Its slight depth is a welcome feature.This piece is sure to become a daily go-to, whether at home, in a cafe, or in a restaurant.
