The katakuchi (spouted bowl) can be used as a cha hai for Chinese tea, for example, to ensure the tea's strength is consistent before pouring it into teacups, or as a yusamashi (water cooler) for Japanese tea.
Of course, it would also be great to use as a sake vessel or for serving sauces and dressings at the table.

This ceramic piece is absorbent, so its texture will change with the moisture and oil from food.
