Natsu Hasegawa: Brief Biography
Born in Tokyo in 1967. After graduating from Tokyo University of the Arts, she trained under the late Ryo Aoki at "Katamarikobo." She continues to create pottery in her own kiln in Fujino, Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture. The soft contours of her works and the gentle expressions that fully utilize the mass and texture of the clay seem to reflect the artist's own calm demeanor. The "Apple Ash Glaze" series, with its beautiful gradation from pale cherry pink to the contrasting cyan, is a rare and popular work produced in limited quantities.
