I first met Mr. Enami at the studio of his mentors, Tetsuya and Momoko Otani.

After becoming independent, he fully absorbed their essence and established his unique expression of "wave," making him a notable craftsman. The regular wave (shinogi) lines he carves are pleasant, making him an artist whose works you want to collect and display together.

Free cups, without handles, offer a wider range of uses.

This pottery is absorbent, so its appearance will change with moisture and oils from food. As it is prone to staining, we recommend avoiding dark-colored dishes until the entire piece has absorbed oil. The more you use it, the more character it will develop, so we hope you enjoy these changes. If you are concerned, try soaking it in water for about 10 minutes before use. This will help prevent staining and odors to some extent, allowing it to slowly develop its character.
