05 Round Rim Plate SS (Mocha)

FFT's featured artist, potter Shintaro Enami.

He is a highly-anticipated artist who recently became independent from Otani Pottery after five years of diverse experience as the top apprentice to Tetsuya and Momoko Otani. Enami's works feature distinctive waves (shinogi), all meticulously hand-carved, creating elegant and intricate expressions that are truly impressive. His pottery wheel technique is also exceptional.

His works are light, comfortable to hold, and have excellent weight balance.

The strong curve of the rim on the round-rimmed plate ensures that even items that need to be scooped with a spoon won't easily slide off. Placing sugar cubes on the SS round-rimmed plate when guests arrive is a charming touch. Of course, it's also perfect for serving snacks.

While featuring refined forms, his works are imbued with the soft expressions of curves, seeming to embody the aroma of coffee and promising to enrich your coffee breaks.

【Care Instructions】
This pottery is absorbent, so its texture will change with moisture and oil from food. It is prone to color transfer, so it is recommended to avoid dark-colored foods until the oil has fully absorbed into the piece. The more you use it, the more character it will develop, so we hope you enjoy this transformation. If you are concerned, try soaking it in water for about 10 minutes before use. This will help prevent color transfer and odors to some extent, and allow it to gradually develop character.
