Mimosa Ash Glaze Pot

Sale price£52.00 GBP

The Mimosa Glaze series is one of Mr. Sakai's works that receives a lot of inquiries. It is said that when Michikazu was still making pottery in Nagano, he regularly used glazes made from apple wood ash and chestnut wood ash, which were readily available. After moving to Kagawa, he started collecting ash from the many mimosa trees planted in his kiln area to make glazes.

The mimosa glazed pot has a unique bottom-heavy proportion, like a combination of a trapezoid and a circle. Although the center of gravity is weighted horizontally, the handle is placed slightly higher, which adjusts the weight balance, making it a very easy-to-use shape.

The Mimosa Glaze, which is also a pleasure to watch as the crazing develops and it "grows," is highly recommended.

Width: Approximately 15.5cm (including spout and handle) / Depth: Approximately 10.5cm / Height: Approximately 9cm

As this is an artist's work, there may be individual differences in glaze, color, and size.
