"Hanakage" is one of Ms. Sakata's representative and popular series. As the name suggests (hana = flower, kage = shadow), a flower-like shadow is cast on the table under strong light, making it a romantic piece. Each piece has a subtle color gradation at the bottom, and the way the colors entwine with the shadow is also beautiful.
For glass items, the edges are made very thin for a pleasant mouthfeel, and the rims of plates, bowls, and vases are curled. Each piece is meticulously designed with both usability and beauty in mind.
