A slightly larger katakuchi bowl.

Katakuchi bowls can be used as a cha hai (serving pitcher) for Chinese tea, to equalize the tea's strength before pouring it into teacups, or as a yusamashi (cooling vessel) for Japanese tea.
Of course, they also make excellent sake pitchers or can be used to display seasonal flowers.
As these are artisan pieces, there will be individual differences in glaze, color, and size.

As this ceramic is absorbent, its appearance will change with exposure to food moisture and oil. It is prone to staining, so we recommend avoiding intensely colored foods until it has absorbed oil evenly. Its character will deepen with use, and we hope you enjoy this transformation. If you are concerned, try soaking it in water for about 10 minutes before use. This will help prevent staining and odor to some extent, allowing it to gradually develop its unique character.
