Katakuchi can be used as a gongdaobei (fairness cup) for Chinese tea to equalize tea strength before pouring into teacups, or as a yusamashi (water cooler) for Japanese tea.
Of course, it would also be lovely as a sake vessel or for displaying seasonal flowers.
As these are artisan pieces, there will be individual differences in glaze, color, and size.

This ceramic is absorbent, so its appearance will change with exposure to moisture and oil from food. Since it is prone to staining, we recommend avoiding dark-colored dishes until the oil has fully permeated the entire piece. The more it is used, the more character it develops, so we hope you enjoy this transformation. If you are concerned, try soaking it in water for about 10 minutes before use. This will help prevent staining and odors to some extent, allowing it to gradually develop its unique patina.
