Tetsuhiro Iwata Biography
Born in Tottori Prefecture in 1981. Studied architecture at Kyoto Seika University, then apprenticed under ceramic artist Kan Ito. Became independent in 2019. As he himself says, he is drawn to "products" like industrial goods, and while his works may appear indifferent from afar, when held, one is moved by their precise balance and traces of handwork. The fusion of constructive, simple proportions and organic handwork evokes the modernity of Brutalist architecture. He is an artist that Food For Thought is paying close attention to.
