*Black spots and blemishes caused by exposed iron particles of about 1mm or less may be visible.
These are intentionally left by the artist as part of the vessel's character.

A highly artistic item that strongly reflects Iwata's flexible way of thinking.

There's a fresh surprise in the gap between the minimalist impression from a bird's-eye view, reminiscent of an industrial product, and the handcrafted texture that emerges when you focus closely.

Tetsuhiro Iwata Biography
Born in Tottori Prefecture in 1981. Studied architecture at Kyoto Seika University, then apprenticed under ceramic artist Kan Ito. Became independent in 2019. As he himself says he is drawn to "products" like industrial goods, his works may appear uninteresting from a distance, but when held, one is moved by their exquisite balance and the traces of handcraftsmanship. The fusion of constructive, concise proportions and organic handcraftsmanship evokes the modernity of Brutalist architecture. He is an artist of note for Food for Thought.
