What's amazing is the precision with which the chemical changes in glazes, which are extremely difficult to control in terms of temperature, are controlled almost perfectly, and the high level of skill used to create pieces of almost perfectly uniform size and thickness.
In contrast to their dynamic visual appeal, it is rare to find such perfectly precise earthenware. The balanced beauty when stacked is even moving. It's easy to see why they are so highly favored by chefs.
The oval shape, unlike round plates, allows the glaze to pool in an entirely different way. Please fully enjoy the charm of the glass-like kiln changes, reminiscent of the Okinawan sea, on the large surface of the oval.
The large size is very versatile. It can be used for a toast + vegetable lunch, stew with rice, generously piled leafy salads, or even a whole fish. It can also serve as a one-plate meal with about five dishes.
