As the top apprentice of Tetsuya and Momoko Otani, he gained various experiences for five years and is a featured artist who has just become independent from "Otani Seitojo".

Enami's works feature characteristic waves (shinogi). All are hand-carved, and their elegant and delicate expressions are breathtaking. And his skill with the potter's wheel is truly remarkable.

The "dorabachi" plate is characterized by its large, flat serving area, as it has no rim. It's perfect for serving about three dishes or Japanese sweets, as well as namul or sushi. You can also use it to arrange a Chinese tea set, like a tray. It's such a versatile item that you can think of endless ways to use it.

The regularly carved waves (shinogi) are simple yet iconic. Every time you serve food, your eyes will be drawn to its contours. For a piece of tableware that you'll use for a long time, it's truly wonderful to have reasons to "love" it, not just for its functionality.

Because this pottery is absorbent, its texture will change with the moisture and oil from food. It is prone to staining, so we recommend avoiding darkly colored dishes until the entire piece has absorbed oil. As it develops more character with use, we hope you enjoy its transformation. If you are concerned, try soaking it in water for about 10 minutes before use. This will help prevent staining and odors to some extent, and allow it to gradually develop.
