01 Rim Plate S (Mocha)

FFT presents Shintaro Enami, a ceramic artist who trained for five years as the top apprentice to Tetsuya and Momoko Otani, gaining diverse experience before striking out on his own from Otani Tougei. He is now a highly anticipated artist.

Enami's works feature distinctive waves (streamlines), all hand-carved, and their elegant and intricate expressions are truly impressive. And his pottery wheel technique is, as expected, superb.

Enami says that rimmed plates are the most frequently used and indispensable items in his own home. The S size is versatile enough for everything from individual serving plates to dessert plates. The "Mocha" color gives a soft and gentle impression, perfect for baked goods.

Since this pottery is absorbent, its texture will change with the moisture and oil from food. It is prone to staining, so we recommend avoiding intensely colored dishes until the entire surface has absorbed oil. The more you use it, the more character it develops, so we hope you enjoy this transformation. If you are concerned, try soaking it in water for about 10 minutes before use. This will help prevent staining and odors to some extent, allowing it to slowly mature.
