"Hanakage" is a popular signature series by Ms. Sakaida. As the name suggests, it is a romantic work where a flower-like shadow falls on the table under strong light. All works have a subtle color gradation at the bottom, and the way the colors intertwine with the shadow is also beautiful.

Whether it's glass, where the rim is made very thin for a pleasant mouthfeel, or plates, bowls, and vases with rimmed edges, each piece is carefully thought out from both usability and aesthetic perspectives.

The "Dessert Cup" is perfect for desserts and appetizers. Its gently curved shape, like an opening flower, makes ice cream look very pretty.

Aki Sakaida Brief Biography

Born in Akita City, Akita Prefecture in 1982
Completed the research course at Akita Public Art and Crafts College in 2012
Moved to Toyama in 2012
Returned to Akita City in 2017 after working at Toyama Glass Studio and established a studio
