13 Dora Bowl L (Moca)

FFT's featured artist, ceramist Shintaro Enami.

He is a highly anticipated artist who recently went independent from "Otani Seito Sho" after five years of gaining various experiences as Tetsuya and Momoko Otani's first apprentice.

The beauty of stacking S, M, and L sizes together is reminiscent of his mentors, Tetsuya and Momoko Otani.

The main feature of the Donburi bowl is that it has no rim, providing a large, flat surface for serving. It's perfect for serving about three dishes or Japanese sweets. It's also great for namul or sushi. You can even use it like a tray to arrange a Chinese tea set. It's a highly versatile item, the kind of vessel whose uses are endless.

The regularly carved waves (shinogi) are simple yet iconic. Every time you serve food, your eyes will be drawn to its outline. Because it's a vessel you'll use for a long time, it's wonderful to have reasons to "love" it, not just for its functionality.

Since this pottery is absorbent, its texture will change with the moisture and oil from food. As it is prone to staining, it is recommended to avoid dark-colored dishes until the entire surface has absorbed oil. The more you use it, the more character it develops, so we hope you enjoy this change. If you are concerned, try soaking it in water for about 10 minutes before use. This will help prevent staining and odors to some extent, allowing it to slowly develop its character.
