December 7 (Sat) - 10 (Tue) "Pots and Pitchers Exhibition" at FOOD FOR THOUGHT Uehara store!

"Practicality or art?" is often a point of contention in ceramic works.
From clearly practical vessels such as plates and bowls, to art pieces that embody the artist's statement, ceramic works exist on an X-Y axis ranging from practicality to art.
I believe that "pots and pitchers" are a special genre located at the "crossroads of practicality and art."
"Pots and pitchers" are the most beautiful among practical vessels.
"Pots and pitchers" are the most suitable for daily use among art pieces.
Personally, it's a field I'd like to categorize as "usable art." People I find "wonderful" skillfully use pots according to the occasion and guests. They also freely use pitchers as water pitchers, vases, and interior statement pieces. I feel that those who are skilled in using pots and pitchers are truly advanced, more so than those who adorn themselves in expensive clothes or furnish their homes with luxurious furniture.
Therefore, this is the area that FFT would like pottery lovers who already collect artist-made plates to turn their attention to next. During the upcoming holiday season, when you gather with family, loved ones, and friends, please become adept at using pots and pitchers. It will surely greatly enhance your vessel-using life.
In this exhibition, eight incredibly talented creators, masters of pots and pitchers, will showcase their works. What is characteristic this time is that half of them are glass artists. This is because I want people to use glass during the holiday season. Warm blown glass will bring a sparkling elegance to your table and become a lively hub for communication. Of course, the ceramic works will also be wonderful, which is evident from the participating artists.
I am confident that this exhibition will be a perfect plan for the holidays of our chic customers in Uehara.
"Pots and pitchers" are also a wonderful choice for gifts.
Since the pandemic, I've come to want to give heartfelt "non-perishable items" rather than meaningless "perishable items."
The entire staff sincerely looks forward to your visit.
