From April 24th (Sat) to April 26th (Mon), 2021, the FOOD FOR THOUGHT Uehara store will hold the second solo exhibition of Yu Uchida, a very popular woodworking artist who is produced in Mikasa City, Hokkaido. I will!

Yu Uchida's work is highly appreciated not only by domestic customers but also by overseas customers in Europe and Asia, and has many collectors. You can't help but be shocked by the artist's ability to sublimate the rough "undulations" of nature into beautiful pieces with his innate sense and outstanding technique.

Yu Uchida's dynamic and delicate works, such as the popular iron mordant, the work ground using chipping, and the expressive spalted (black pattern created by the activity of microorganisms over many years), were gathered. Of course, everything is one point that can never be met again. We offer a wide variety of products, including basic and easy-to-use trays, cut plates, gong bowls, and rectangular plates.

This time, at the request of FOOD FOR THOUGHT director Yuko Watanabe, we will also introduce unique works such as the long-awaited oval and the most beautiful fruit bowl.

Overwhelmed by the magnificence of wood and the skill of Mr. Uchida, who manages it effortlessly, the works leave a deep impression. Please feel it with your own eyes and hands.
