From 11/18 (Sat) to 21 (Tue), the second "Atsushi Funakushi × Yuichi Takemata Exhibition" will be held at FOOD FOR THOUGHT Uehara.

A collaboration between two popular artists, Atsushi Funakushi and Yuichi Takemata!

We definitely want customers in Uehara to see the synergistic effects of their works.

Needless to say, the two artists exhibiting this time are rare creators who produce works that combine both design and usability.

This time, the lineup will mainly feature their standard items.

I believe artists are more artistic than craftsmen. They must have an urge to continuously output new and creative things. But they also continue to make their usual standard items. Creators who steadily continue to produce standard items amidst their own feelings and changes in the world, provide joy and peace of mind to us users. And it's truly amazing that they are always at the center of popularity.

Metalwork artist Yuichi Takemata will be exhibiting his usual standard works, but this time, special new works will also be unveiled.

The "FFT Special Order Ladle," created based on FOOD FOR THOUGHT director Yuko Watanabe's request, "I want a ladle that can be added to a dish or pot and served directly to the table," will be unveiled for the first time at this exhibition.

This is a special item that can only be obtained at FOOD FOR THOUGHT!

At FFT's earnest request, the handle and bowl part are designed according to the golden ratio of 1:1.618, which humans find most beautiful. It is beautiful to look at, makes the user's movements elegant, and can be used as an extension of the right hand. This is a ladle that we want to confidently deliver to your dining table.

Ceramic artist Atsushi Funakushi will, as usual, create mainly the standard items that everyone looks forward to.

Especially many "plates" for those who are waiting.

"Lately, I've really enjoyed making the standard items that everyone looks forward to," says Funakushi. To continue making the same things, listen to the users' voices, and then refine his works is something that can only be done by someone who is confident in their craftsmanship and is strict with themselves.

A common point between Funakushi and Takemata is that they have a very large number of repeat customers and those who buy additional items. They have become indispensable items in daily dining.

And we hear many voices from people who happened to see their works in a restaurant and then wanted them. How many times a year do you ask, "Whose tableware is this?" in a restaurant? This is truly amazing.

I believe it's proof that their "standard" works have already reached the level of "masterpieces."

Now, Funakushi describes his tableware as "like a picture frame." Takemata says that when creating, he is conscious of "the beauty when placed, and making the user's movements beautiful."

Both of them do not view things from a first-person perspective, but always approach craftsmanship with the user, the other person, as the subject. It is understandable that they receive high praise and trust from both general users and food professionals.

We want not only fans of the two artists but also first-time visitors to see their works. For those who like FFT's lineup, these are two artists who will truly resonate with you!
