From February 21 (Sat) to February 25 (Wed), and February 27 (Fri) to March 1 (Sun), the FOOD FOR THOUGHT Uehara store will host the "Akiko Takahashi Exhibition."
On the first day, February 21 (Sat), Akiko Takahashi herself will be present!

Akiko Takahashi's main field is flower vases. After forming them using primitive hand-building techniques without a potter's wheel, she creates striking expressions by tearing, adding textures, and randomly applying glaze. Within the layers of white she expresses, the "time" of carefully applied handcraftsmanship is layered. Her works, which exude a delicate yet dynamic, one-of-a-kind presence, overflow with powerful energy that speaks to the heart.

At last year's solo exhibition, her works garnered support from professionals in various fields, such as florists and designers, and it was particularly striking to see unique individual pieces quickly find new homes. Vases are an essential element in creating an ideal space. We also recommend them to professionals in space design, such as those involved in accommodation facilities, restaurants, and store interiors.

You can view a wide range of works, from large pieces that can boldly hold abundant branches to charming sizes that, true to FFT's style, can be easily enjoyed on a table or windowsill. The new "planters" are a highlight! This will be their first introduction at our store, so don't miss them.

The exhibition period has been set longer than usual, so please enjoy selecting works at the Uehara store. Akiko Takahashi's works reveal new expressions as the light illuminating them changes with time and season. They are beautiful presences that invite us to enjoy the flow of time together.
