Following last year, we plan to start the 2026 FFT store opening with an exhibition by Shigeyoshi Morioka and Yuriko Morioka.

This time, store owner Takahiro Igarashi personally selected over 200 items from many works at the workshop, based on the theme of "easy to use daily at the dining table,"
and will hold the "Shigeyoshi Morioka & Yuriko Morioka Edited Show."

The Morioka couple, who create pottery at the foot of Mt. Koya in Wakayama Prefecture, create works that exude an overwhelming aura, as if the energy of nature itself has taken form, and they truly capture the heart.

While their unglazed pottery is impressive for its hard and dry surface, Shigeyoshi's Nanban unglazed pottery slowly absorbs the oil from food as it is used daily, gradually developing a luster and charm. A limited number of Shigeyoshi's masterpiece "coffee pots," which were also popular at the previous exhibition, will be available. Don't miss out.

Yuriko's works are supreme white porcelain created with ultra-high heat in a wood-fired kiln using the "namagake" (raw glaze) technique without bisque firing. Their overwhelming presence has a magical quality. This time, we have mainly selected easy-to-use plates and bowls, as well as pots and other items that are sure to sell out. Popular works such as lidded containers and vases heavily influenced by Joseon dynasty ceramics, and large pedestal plates that you'd want to use for special occasions, will also be on display.

The works of these two artists are highly acclaimed overseas and will likely become even harder to acquire in the future.
