The special exhibition "Let's Eat Rice." will be held at FOOD FOR THOUGHT Uehara from Saturday, September 20th to Wednesday, September 24th!
The "Let's Eat Rice." exhibition is a special exhibition focused on "rice bowls" with the wish that people "enjoy eating rice" during autumn, when new rice is delicious. It's a competition of rice bowls from 12 renowned artists. Come and find your own "ultimate rice bowl."

Japan is a precious country where personal tableware, "zokujinki," exists at the dining table. A rice bowl is one of them. It's wonderful to have "my own vessel" that accompanies daily meals, isn't it? As those who handle tableware, we always believe that we must firmly preserve this culture.
Especially now that online shopping services are commonplace, we want customers to "pick up and choose" their rice bowls, which support their daily diet, in the store.
Each "rice bowl" has a unique feel in the palm of your hand, differing in the curve of its body, its foot, and its diameter. And there's the balance of color and shape, and its presence, including its tactile feel. Because it's an item you use every day, we want you to fully experience that sensation in the store. Also, please enjoy choosing your artwork at the Uehara store while carefully imagining how it will complement your existing tableware.
This is a luxurious special exhibition where you can see, compare, and enjoy works by leading contemporary Japanese ceramic artists all at once! This time, 12 popular artists will deliver their works to this exhibition. From pottery to porcelain, simple to highly intricate designs, you can carefully pick up and compare the "now" of the rice bowl, a staple item on the dining table.
