The "Children's Tableware Exhibition," an annual event at FOOD FOR THOUGHT, is now in its 7th year.

This project began with the wish that "children should experience authentic tableware from a young age."

Meals shared with family are wonderful times where everyone can enjoy eating together. At the same time, they are also important opportunities for communication and education, and invaluable for children's growth. We hope that through the works selected for this exhibition, children will feel the joy and importance of eating during daily meals and snack times, and that it will be an opportunity to foster their rich emotional development.

This year, 9 popular artists will deliver their unique interpretations of "tableware for children." This project has matured with each passing year, and once again, many captivating works will be on display!

Among the artists, some have actual experience creating tableware for their own children. Furthermore, not only baby-oriented items but also adult-sized tableware will be available, so teenagers can find their own favorites. Please pick up and see the works, ranging from those meticulously crafted for ease of use from the perspective of parents and children, to unique and adorable pieces!

This year's poster was again created by Akasaka Sumire, our staff member and dyeing artist.
The theme of this year's poster is "Insects."

"The theme given to me by Director Yuko Watanabe this time was insects. When I was little, I used to catch a lot of insects, so I thought it was an exciting theme, but I also braced myself a little, thinking that 'bugs' are something many people dislike. Come to think of it, some children find mealtime a bit challenging. Choosing their own favorite tableware can turn mealtime into 'something to look forward to.' I would be happy if the 'Children's Tableware Exhibition' could be the catalyst for such a moment," Akasaka said, "I drew this while thinking about how something disliked could be transformed into 'this might be good.'"

Every year during this exhibition, a pleasant atmosphere fills the store. I believe this is because everyone involved in this exhibition is thinking of beloved children.
This exhibition is now in its 7th year. We are very much looking forward to holding it again this year, having accumulated experience over the years.

Please enjoy the touch, weight and thickness, scent and sound of authentic items with your family from a young age, and experience their deepening charm.

Children are also very welcome to visit! Please come with your family.
All our staff look forward to your visit!
